Ritron, Inc. was founded in 1977 and designs and manufactures its wireless products in the United States (Carmel, Indiana). Portable Two-Way Radios: PR, NT, and HR Series
What portable radios does Ritron make?
As of 2026, Ritron organizes its handheld lineup into three tiers, each available in license-free VHF MURS, licensed VHF, or licensed UHF versions:
- PR Series (entry level, no display): PR-10M (MURS analog, 16 channels), PR-1317DMR (VHF analog/DMR, 32 channels), PR-4047DMR (UHF analog/DMR, 32 channels). Simple, rugged voice radios for crews that don't need menus or displays.
- NT Series (full-featured analog): NT-152M (MURS), NT-174 (VHF), NT-470 (UHF). Up to 255 channels, backlit 14-character LCD, six programmable buttons, DTMF/SelCall/2-tone encode. Analog only.

How do I choose between MURS, VHF, and UHF?
- VHF MURS (license-free): Best for simplex on-site communication with no repeater and no FCC license paperwork. Ideal for small retail, farms, camps, and single-building operations.
- VHF (licensed): Better propagation across open terrain — construction sites, golf courses, rail yards, outdoor campuses.
